BUDAPEST,
HUNGARY

The Közlekedési Múzeum Train Station serves the Budapest commuter population as well as visitors to the Museum of Transport in Budapest, Hungary. To the south is the Museum of Transport, Népliget Park and a major Tram interchange and to the north is a residential neighborhood and the soccer stadium just beyond. The light filled underpass creates a connection between these two spheres which is reinforced by the brick artwork of the walls that tie the industrial history of the southern area to the northern residential neighborhood. The saw-tooth platform canopies reference the saw-tooth roof of the adjacent Museum of Transport. The folded concrete plane creates a unique identity for the station that shelters and uplifts.
