Light Sock is not your grandmother’s chandelier. In lieu of the baroque arms and dangling pendants of a traditional heirloom fixture, this chandelier is just a mesh sack full of cut crystals that hangs from the ceiling. A single light source buried within a pile of crystals intensifies the optical effects of cut glass beyond those of a typical chandelier. Short, long, and double-bag models are available to suit every location and use. Bags are one-size-fits-all. Like produce at the farmers market, crystals can be purchased by the pound. The total weight of the crystals in each Light Sock produces corresponding variations in bag bulge and sag, ensuring that every piece is unique.

Light Sock was commissioned by Swarovski for its Crystal Palace artist collaboration series and debuted at Design Miami in 2007.
