MAINTENANCE

The geometries of body and building aligned in an experiment in manscaping. From the ten male candidates who auditioned, the selected candidate was chosen on the basis of the color, density, and growth patterns of their chest hair. Conceived for Nuit Blanche at the New Museum, Facade Maintenance was unrealized because of a technicality in New York City’s signage ordinance that prohibits displaying videos of this scale on building surfaces in certain districts.
