DS+R Announces Newest Additions to Leadership

DS+R welcomes three new Principals to its leadership team: David Allin, Zoë Small, and Sean Gallagher join fellow Principals Kevin Rice, Robert Katchur, and Steven Forman. They bring decades of collective expertise in design, research, and sustainability. We’re proud to recognize their continued contribution to many of the studio’s most significant projects.

David Allin, AIA joined DS+R in 2006. He has led some of the studio’s most genre defying architectural projects including the V&A East Storehouse, a new paradigm for publicly accessible storage that will open in 2025 in London, and was a key member of the creative team behind The Shed. David will lead the Pina Bausch Center, which is about to launch. In addition to building projects, David has led many of the studio’s art projects and exhibitions including Joyful Trees at the Liverpool Biennial; The Hare with Amber Eyes at the Jewish Museum, and Paris Moderne at the Power Station of Art in Shanghai.

Zoë Small, AIA, LEED joined DS+R in 2007 and has over 25 years of architectural experience. She is a trusted Project Director who leads complex, high profile, urban projects that combine adaptive reuse with new construction including: Google Pier 57, MoMA, the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive (BAMPFA), The Broad Plaza & Public Spaces, and several sub-projects at Lincoln Center. In addition to her project responsibilities, Zoë plays an instrumental role on the Business Development team and has gone out of her way to create shared resources and programs for her peers including DS+R’s pilot Mentorship Program.

Sean Gallagher joined DS+R in 2010 and has 25 years of architectural experience. As the Director of Sustainable Design, Sean has played a critical role in the visioning process of much of the studio’s work including the US Olympic and Paralympic Museum, Dissona Live-Work Complex, and Google Pier 57. He led the David Rubenstein Forum at the University of Chicago, which was awarded 2022 Best Tall Tower Worldwide by the International Council of Tall Buildings and Urban Habitats. Currently, he is leading the RENAZCA project in Madrid and the Pardee Center at Boston University, our first all timber tower.

DS+R is also pleased to announce the newest Associate Principals, Senior Associates, and Associates in our leadership team. A heartfelt congratulations to these promoted staff members, who play a vital role in the studio’s design excellence and leadership.
